Armed With New Data,
Oregon Will Strengthen Statewide Prevention Strategies
Using the most comprehensive data Oregon has ever assembled
on alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, state officials say
they will design more targeted means to reduce their use and
the disease and death they cause.
Details of the findings can be found on the DHS Web site at
http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/addiction/resource_center.shtml#seow. |

The 2008 Substance
Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant is now
available on line at: http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/addiction/docs/sapt2008blockgrant-app.pdf
The SAPT block grant is completed annually. This year, it
became mandatory for all states and territories to report
National Outcome Measures (NOMS). Most of the NOMS were
pre-populated with data from national data systems. The SAPT
block application includes information on how AMH is
meeting the federal requirements associated with this
funding and general information about the prevention, treatment
and recovery systems including current and future initiatives.
