The
first and largest demonstration in support
of long-term addiction recovery set for September 16
Tens of thousands in 40 cities across the U.S. will speak
out, march, run and walk!

| WHAT: |
Recovery community organizations and supporters are hosting
walks, rallies and other events in support of the millions of
people in the U.S. who are in long-term recovery from addiction
to alcohol and other drugs. |
| WHY: |
To demonstrate that millions of Americans are in long-term recovery
and are leading normal, productive lives. And to mobilize people
to support policies that encourage and improve access to recovery
and remove barriers to long-term recovery. |
| WHERE:

Events
are scheduled in more than 40 communities from Augusta, Maine
to Wainanae, Hawaii. |

her to speak out, will be handing out trophies to winners
of the Dry Run at Sims Park in Columbia, South Carolina.

the Association of Persons Affected by Addiction, Faces
& Voices of Recovery board member and advocate for long-term
recovery, will be speaking at Rally and Walk for Recovery
in the Park in Dallas, Texas.

| Rally
for Recovery! is organized by Faces & Voices of Recovery,
a national movement of people in recovery, their families and
allies who are joining together to advocate for long-term recovery.
The organization is putting a face on recovery and raising the
voices of the recovery community to let Americans know that
long-term recovery is making life better for millions of Americans.

a statewide, nonprofit association of private sector and tribal
entities who provide treatment, prevention and training services.
We are dedicated to ending addiction by ensuring the development
and maintenance of the highest quality statewide service systems. |
Mission
OPERAs mission is to eliminate alcohol and drug problems
and their social, health and behavioral consequences through
use of evidence-based practices; partnerships with public and
private, social and healthcare providers; and advocacy for effective
budget and public policy. |

recognized as a public health issue that is both preventable
and treatable. We envision a society in which high quality services
for prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug problems are
widely available, and where prevention and treatment are recognized
